From invitation
to a confident handover.

Use this guide for the current private account system. Start with the invitation email, install the local engine where required, test one connection at a time, and finish by putting SM Crawler on each chosen device.

Before you begin

Ten quiet minutes of preparation makes the installation much easier.

  • The computer is connected to the internet
  • The owner can unlock the computer
  • The owner has their account sign-in details
  • The phone or tablet is nearby
  • Both devices can join the same Wi-Fi
  • You know which sources the owner wants first
  • You have permission to connect each account
  • You can receive any confirmation codes
Begin with one useful source. Complete it, confirm that real activity appears, then add the next source.

Install the main system

Choose the computer that will keep SM Crawler running for the owner.

Mac

For macOS 12 or newer on Apple silicon or Intel.

Open the Download pageChoose Download for Mac.
Open the downloaded ZIPThe Mac creates a folder containing the installer and Read me first.
Double-click the Mac installerIts name begins SM-Crawler-Install-Mac.
Approve the first openingIf macOS blocks it, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to Security, choose Open Anyway, then confirm.
Let the installer finishSM Crawler is created in Applications and the connection screen opens.
Open SM CrawlerUse the same SM Crawler app for every future launch and update.

Windows PC

For Windows 10 or Windows 11.

Open the Download pageChoose Download for Windows.
Choose Extract allOpen the extracted folder after Windows finishes.
Double-click the Windows installerIts name begins SM-Crawler-Install-Windows.
Approve Windows protectionChoose More info, then Run anyway.
Let the installer finishThe SM Crawler shortcut is added and the connection screen opens.
Pin SM CrawlerKeep the shortcut on Start or the taskbar for the owner.

Linux

For a modern desktop distribution.

Open the Download pageChoose Download for Linux and extract the ZIP.
Allow the installer to runOpen the file's Properties → Permissions and enable running as a program.
Open the Linux installerIts name begins SM-Crawler-Install-Linux.
Approve the system helper when askedThe installer prepares the local engine and desktop shortcut.
Open SM CrawlerThe connection screen guides you through the first source.
If the installer does not open, use the Support link on the Download page. Ordinary customers are not expected to type commands.

Connect the owner's first source

The connection screen keeps everything on one page. Open only the section you are working on.

Run System CheckConfirm that the app and its local engine show the same build number.
Open one sourceChoose Email, Messages, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram or another authorised source.
Follow the instructions inside that sectionKeep the owner's confirmation code or approval screen visible.
Save the connectionWait for the section to show its connected state.
Return to the main pageConfirm that the owner's real account card and recent activity appear.
Test one complete actionOpen a conversation, set its priority, reply where available, and mark one safe test item Done.

Use the client's invitation

The owner creates accounts in a separate Admin app. User controls never appear inside a personal SM Crawler workspace.

Open the access emailIt contains app.smcrawler.com, the username, temporary password 1234 and the current user manual.
Open app.smcrawler.comEnter the username and temporary password exactly as shown.
Choose a private passwordAt first sign-in, replace 1234 with at least eight characters before the workspace opens.
Keep the new password privateSM Crawler stores only a salted, non-reversible hash. The owner does not need to know the replacement password.
Add another deviceSign in directly, or use the one-use, ten-minute QR from an already trusted screen.
Two different addresses have two different jobs. Clients use app.smcrawler.com. Only the system owner uses admin.smcrawler.com to create, disable, enable, reset or resend access.

WhatsApp calls stay simple

WhatsApp calling needs no paid provider or technical setup.

Use Open call in WhatsApp. SM Crawler opens the selected person's official WhatsApp contact. The client presses WhatsApp's own phone or camera button there.
Choose a real WhatsApp contactUse the WhatsApp call button in the computer header or under More on a phone.
Press Open call in WhatsAppThe official WhatsApp contact opens on the same device.
Start the call in WhatsAppPress WhatsApp's phone button for voice or camera button for video. No Twilio account, sender approval or call-permission template is needed.
Test one real contactConfirm the correct contact opens and WhatsApp's own call controls are available.
Optional ordinary telephone calls are separate. Only clients who specifically need normal phone calls inside SM Crawler use the advanced Twilio section in Connections. WhatsApp clients skip it completely.

Add a phone or tablet

The owner's computer remains the private home of the system. The paired device becomes a comfortable window into the same live page.

iPhone or iPad

Keep SM Crawler open on the computerConnect the iPhone or iPad to the same Wi-Fi.
Press the phone buttonIt is the 📱 button near the top-right of SM Crawler.
Scan the QR codeUse the Camera app and open the link in Safari.
Approve the pairingFollow the short confirmation shown by SM Crawler.
Add it to the Home ScreenIn Safari, press Share, choose Add to Home Screen, then Add.
Open the new SM Crawler iconConfirm that the agenda and current activity match the computer.

Android phone or tablet

Keep SM Crawler open on the computerConnect the Android device to the same Wi-Fi.
Press the phone buttonIt is the 📱 button near the top-right of SM Crawler.
Scan the QR codeUse the Camera app and open the link in Chrome.
Approve the pairingFollow the short confirmation shown by SM Crawler.
Add the app iconIn Chrome, open the menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
Open the new SM Crawler iconConfirm that the agenda and current activity match the computer.

What it is not.

The phone or tablet is not a second, separate store of the owner's accounts. It opens the same private SM Crawler system running on the owner's computer. Keep that computer powered on and connected when mobile access is needed.

Self-service installation anywhere

Every customer must be able to install SM Crawler without technical help or an onsite visit. Each available download, language and connection has already passed its release checks.

Buy or start the approved trial onlineThe official website or genuine store listing confirms the plan, device requirements, proven connectors and any view-only limits before payment.
Download the signed installerChoose the operating system. The final public installer must be one obvious file from an official location—not a collection of scripts.
Follow the guided installerChoose Continue, review the plain-language privacy summary and let automatic checks confirm storage, network and operating-system support. Ordinary customers never need Terminal.
Keep existing information during updatesBefore changing anything, the installer creates and verifies a dated rollback copy in the visible SM Crawler Backups folder in the customer’s home folder. Program files, settings, credentials and saved history remain together.
Complete private sign-inUse the invitation and replace the temporary password privately. No installer or support person asks for the replacement password.
Run System CheckContinue when the connection screen confirms that the page and engine are both build 194 and the data-preservation check passes.
Choose languageChoose any language offered by the installer. Only release-ready, carefully reviewed languages appear.
Connect one real platformConnections lists the available catalogue, but the working menu shows only successfully configured platforms. Enter credentials only in the official authorisation flow.
Understand view-onlyA pale view-only item has no Reply button. Clicking it opens the exact official app or website item. It is never described as a complete inbox.
Verify one real itemConfirm the account name, one recent message or comment, its links or media, and preserved older history after a restart.
Practise the daily actionsOpen Agenda, group by Person, use mouse-over information, set a priority, reply where supported and mark one safe item Done.
Add a phone or tabletUse the one-use QR and add the paired page to the Home Screen. A native mobile-store claim is made only after a genuine reviewed app exists.
Know how to recoverThe app provides password recovery, support, update and rollback guidance in the chosen language without exposing credentials or message bodies.

  • SM Crawler reopens from its normal icon
  • The correct owner and accounts are visible
  • Your agenda today opens and closes
  • Personal notes opens from the computer header and the permanent phone Notes tab
  • A reviewed note reminder appears in Today as Sent reminder
  • A row opens its full conversation
  • Priority changes appear everywhere
  • Per day, Person / group, Important, Type and Native work in every feed
  • Remove is visible on every item and removes one safe test item
  • Remove group clears one safe test group in a single click
  • Mouse-over Done remains available
  • The phone or tablet shows the same current view
